Nakata Dojo teaches Shito-Ryu karate — one of the four major traditional styles recognized by the World Karate Federation and featured in Olympic competition. Our lineage runs directly from Kenwa Mabuni, the founder of Shito-Ryu, through Kunio Murayama, who brought this tradition to the United States. That lineage is not a marketing claim. It is a responsibility. Training here is not a recreational activity. It is a sustained practice that develops character, discipline, and genuine martial competence over years — not weeks.
