Sensei Kenji began his Karate learning under his older brother at the age of 10. His patient and encouraging approach has helped him develop great karate practitioners and competitors of all ages, and is committed to continue the legacy of masters of his lineage, while seeking new teaching methods to adapt to the new generations.

History and lineage
About Shito-Ryu Karate Do
Shito-Ryu Karate is one of the four major traditional styles of Japanese karate, each with its unique history and techniques. Shito-Ryu was founded by Kenwa Mabuni, a prominent martial artist, and its history is a fascinating blend of diverse influences.
The story of Shito-Ryu begins in the early 20th century when Kenwa Mabuni, who had extensive training in both Okinawan Shorin-Ryu and Shorei-Ryu styles of karate, merged these two styles to create Shito-Ryu. He named it "Shito" in honor of his two primary martial arts instructors, Anko Itosu and Kanryo Higaonna. Mabuni's goal was to preserve the traditional techniques and values of these styles while creating a new system that was efficient and practical for self-defense.
Shito-Ryu emphasizes the combination of hard and soft techniques, incorporating a wide range of kata (pre-arranged forms) that showcase various aspects of martial arts. This style places a strong emphasis on balance, fluidity, and precision in movements, making it suitable for both self-defense and as a discipline for personal growth.
Over the years, Shito-Ryu Karate has continued to evolve and spread globally. Its technical diversity and rigorous training have attracted practitioners from around the world, making it a well-respected and popular style in the karate community.
Today, Shito-Ryu is known for its intricate and dynamic forms, its focus on strong basics, and its commitment to upholding the traditional values of martial arts, including discipline, respect, and humility. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of its founder, Kenwa Mabuni, and continues to influence and inspire martial artists of all ages and backgrounds worldwide.
Manzo Iwata
Manzo Iwata was born in Tokyo, Japan, to a family that owned the Iwata-en Tea Company. He began the study of Shito-ryu karate at the age of 10. In junior high school, he also studied judo and kendo. He studied aikido with Ueshiba Morihei, the founder of aikido and a good friend of his grandfather. Iwata enrolled at Toyo University in 1941 and began training in karate directly under Grandmaster Kenwa Mabuni,[2] the founder of Shito-ryu karate. After beginning training in Kobudo Bujutsu or staff, Iwata was advised by Mabuni to study Jojutsu, or short staff, under Seiko Fujita. In 1943, Iwata received a Jojutsu Shihan diploma from Fujita. After graduating from Toyo University in 1944, Iwata also received a Shihan diploma from Mabuni.[3] After the death of Fujita in 1966, Iwata became heir to many of his styles, but not of Kōga-ryū Wada Ha Ninjutsu.
In 1960, Iwata established the Nihon Karate-Do Kai Eastern Japan and became its first president. In 1964, he became vice-president of the All Japan Karate-Do Federation Shito-Kai. In 1969, he became the Saitama Prefecture Karate-Do Federation vice-president. In 1972, he became an All Japan Karate-do Federation first grade referee. In 1980, he became the president of Shito-Kai, and in 1993 received the Japan Martial Arts Distinguished Service Medal. He died of heart failure in 1993.
Kunio Murayama
was a prominent figure in the world of Karate, but mainly in the Americas. He was the founder of the organization we are members of today, Shito-Kai Murayama International.
Murayama Shihan studied Shito-Ryu Karate under the tutelage of Manzo Iwata who in turn was a direct student of Kenwa Mabuni.
He was a pioneer of Shito-Ryu Karate Do in Mexico and the Americas. The organization has members in multiple countries in Latin America as well as members in the United States, Canada, England, UAE, India, and Australia.
Shihan Tetsuo Murayama 7th Dan WSKF
Alonso Tetsuo Murayama was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1974 and has been a practitioner since he was a young child. He has enjoyed a lot of success in the world stage as an elite competitor. He is now the successor of his father Kunio Murayama leading the Shito-Kai Murayama organization. He holds a 7th Dan Rank and title of Shihan from The World Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation.
